Here are two recent wastewater articles for breweries that you may find helpful.

The first is written by David Edmunds, a law school student at George Washington University Law School and craft beer fan.  David did a ton of research on this, and it shows.  He covers the basics, problems, solutions, financing, sustainability, Click here to read David’s article.

The second is written by 2 lawyers, Alison Torbitt and Libby Ford of the Nixon Peabody lawfirm.  They are familiar with Yuengling Brewery’s recent lawsuits totaling almost $10 million from the EPA for failure to adequately address their wastewater issues.  Click here to read Alison and Libby’s article.

After reading all of this, I think you’ll agree that brewery wastewater can be a really big deal.  If it’s not for you, thank your lucky stars and keep your fingers crossed.  But remember, it’s not about getting the beer out the door.  It’s about the beer, sales, profitability, responsibility, sustainability, and of course- FUN!
